Mawsley's 2019 MacMillan Coffee Morning

Every year, like many companies around the UK, Mawsley Machinery host a coffee morning/day in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. Our day consists of eating cake and drinking tea, an average day for Mawsley and now we can raise money for charity whilst doing it! From the sale of cakes, raffle prizes and generous donations, we managed to beat last year's total of £377 out of the water, raising £409!

A variety of cakes and confectionaries were available to purchase alongside a coffee and tea. Raffle prizes ranged from bottles of Prosecco to bottles of shampoo. Of course, the competitive Mawsley Bake Off was the main event.

This year, the participants had two opportunities to come out on top with two awards to battle for; the first award being the 'Best Presented Cake' and the second award was the 'Best Tasting Cake.' All of the entries into the Mawsley Bake Off were presented in a new Manitou 1900R skid steer bucket, once again showing the versatility of Manitou machines! After a very long debate and a lot of tasting, the award for the best presented cake went to Cheryl, our Sales Administrator for her peanut butter and popcorn layer cake. Chelsea, our Accounts Manager took the mighty award of the best tasting for her chocolate and vanilla marble cake. We must give a mention to the runners up; the rest of the entries for the Bake Off included a Rolo tart, chocolate victoria sponge, fruit cake, slow cooked chocolate chip cake and a coconut and lime cake. Unlucky guys, maybe next year! Unfortunately readers, you can no longer decide the best tasting cake as they quickly disappeared, but take a look at the photo below and let us know which cake you think looks the best!

Overall, it was a great day raising money and awareness for a great cause. A big thank you to Cheryl for organising the event. Next year we hope to raise even more than this year and we look forward to seeing you here!
